Two Extravaganza!

How is it that one can become a mom to two rambunctious two-year-olds so quickly??

Today, the boys celebrated their second birthday.  How the time went by so fast, I haven't a clue!  While we celebrated with family and friends on Saturday, this afternoon we decided to head out to Everland in Buford.  When Jody first told me about it, I have to admit that the germaphobe in me was a little scared.  However, once we got there and started playing, I didn't even stop to wash my hands once!  Go me!

If you haven't been to Everland, you are missing out!  The boys loved it, and we did, too!  The best part is that the parents get right in there and participate with the kids.  I got to jump on a giant "bubble" trampoline (which I gracefully fell on several times), go down giant inflatable slides (scared me to pieces), and artfully navigate a giant play place (which gave me a severe case of the heebie-jeebies).

Perhaps the funniest part of our day took place in the giant inflatable pirate ship.  After crawling through a maze, you have to rock climb inflatable squares to scale a 9 foot wall.  At the top of the wall, there is a slide that goes down the other side.  When we got to this point, Jody said that he would climb the wall first, and I could hand the boys up to him.  Well, Jody got about half way up the wall before he swiftly fell back down on his booty.  I, of course, laughed hysterically, and essentially told him, "Stand back, I got this."

I started off so strong.  I think I made it up a good four feet, before I also bit the dust.  Jody and I just stared at each other like, is this seriously happening right now?  I mean, that thing was crazy hard!  It also didn't help that right after I fell, a little boy peaked his head over from the top.  Show-off!

All I can say is thank goodness Jack and Rowan don't know how to make fun of their parents yet.  We very quickly made our exit back out the entrance, being sure not to make eye contact with any of the little kids who were making their way in.  Jody says that we are going to start exercising, and next time, that wall is ours!

Here are a few pictures from our day. . .

We ate a yummy birthday lunch at Fire House.  Don't worry folks, that cup is empty.

The boys LOVED the ball pit!

Whew!  That was fun (and kind of scary, says Mommy).  We probably went down this slide at least twenty times!

This boat rocked back and forth.

So, we were going to go down this slide, but we both chickened out.  It was a little steep, and that boy at the bottom was casually throwing balls up the slide.  We had a legitimate reason to fear for our lives.  Plus, at this point I was sweating like a hog, while simultaneously basking in the aroma of stinky feet.  We made a quick exit after this.

Going down the slide with Daddy.
