From 5th to 50th

When Jack and Rowan made their grand entrance into the world at a whopping six weeks early, they were bound to be a little behind their peers.  Three days after they were released from the NICU, they had their first check up with Dr. Elder.  According to all of their typical stats (height, weight, head size), they were coming in under the 5th percentile.  Of course, they were also being compared to full-term babies who were almost two months older than they were, but we understood that being preemies meant they had some catching up to do.

Fast forward 18 months and I cannot believe the gains our boys have made!  Today, Dr. Elder was proud to tell us that Jack and Rowan are now at the 50th percentile (average) for height/weight and the 85th percentile for head.  Woohoo!

They may have started out small, but they've always been little fighters!

Checking out the cars while we wait
**As an interesting side note, Jack and Rowan's appointment was actually supposed to be tomorrow.  Dr. Elder was so sweet and went ahead and worked us in anyway.  He joked that I wanted to show up bright and early this morning to not be late for the appointment (to the tune of 24 hours early....).  Whoops!
